BLANTON:

JOHN, (b. 1760/61 ~ 1840) Muster Roll of Captain Wm. Becknell Company into service on July 14, 1836 at James Clarks Sulfurfork Prairie - Red River Blues Mounted Volunteers at age 75 yrs., (Brig. Gen. Greene). John Blanton died in Clarksville, Red River County, Republic of Texas.
Update: Sept. 2014:  John Blanton was a TEXAS RANGER, one of the first units of Rangers...........this is supported by documented Primary Sources unavailable at this time to other researchers.
 
 
Other TEXAS RANGERS were: Benjamin Blanton, a son of John Blanton, Jacob Blanton and other Blanton family members closely rellated to John Blanton of early Texas..
